Brighton CCTV was approached to provide a bespoke security solution for a Shepherd's Cottage located on a remote part of an estate. The estate had an existing CCTV system overseeing several key areas, but the Shepherd's Cottage, destined to serve as an Airbnb, was situated far from the main buildings. Ensuring it could be properly monitored required an innovative approach.

The client needed a reliable CCTV system for the Shepherd's Cottage, integrated with the main estate’s security system. However, the remote location posed several challenges. With no access to internet infrastructure, a solution was needed to provide real-time surveillance that could be remotely accessed from the estate's security office. The primary requirement was a setup that was discreet, functional, and connected seamlessly to the main CCTV system.

Brighton CCTV installed a mini NVR (Network Video Recorder) along with a mobile router and a SIM card at the Shepherd's Cottage. This setup was ideal for the situation, as the mini NVR's compact size allowed it to be easily concealed, yet it offered full functionality to meet the client's surveillance needs. By utilising the mobile network, the mini NVR was successfully integrated with the estate’s main CCTV system, enabling the security office to monitor the Shepherd's Cottage 24/7 alongside the other buildings.

A critical component of the installation was ensuring the SIM card had a fixed IP address with unlimited data, allowing continuous monitoring. This setup allowed seamless remote access, offering peace of mind to both the estate’s security team and future Airbnb guests.
